We scared someone today.

A tough farmer looking bloke came to the door and saw us lot smiling back at him. He took three steps back and looked like he was weighing up his ability to make it to the gate before we caught him. Of course, it was only our fantasy as we were locked inside and Sue wouldn’t let us out to play with the nice man.

He was probably thinking of those awful injuries that poor boy got last week when a pack of pigdogs caught and mauled him. The poor boy was very badly bitten and had to go to hospital. The owner tried his best. Did what he could to help the boy and did the “right” thing in destroying his dogs, but the damage was done.

No doubt this attack will weigh heavily against our breed again. But just remember humans. You kill, maim, rape and torture far more of your own kind, and us animals, than we ever hurt of you. You have abuse down to a fine art. Before banning us for the few and far between incidents that happen, consider your own abuse of others first.

We can be trained and controlled. We can be made safe and there are laws to make you safe from us. But few laws that protect your children from their own whanau.
